Message from the Mayor:
Wallingford is our hometown. We are proud of our community, its spirit and its vitality. With safe streets, great fire and emergency response, good schools including two public high schools, two parochial schools and Choate Rosemary Hall, dependable and affordable electric, water and sewer services, four industrial parks, 23 public parks, 2056 acres of public owned open space and 376 acres of public owned reservoir, we have good reason to believe that Wallingford has much to offer every citizen.
While the list of good attributes is long, there is one common strength of Wallingford that provides the foundation for its success. That strength is found in the people who live and work in the community. People in Wallingford pursue occupations as varied as farming including orchards and vineyards, manufacturing including steel, high technology including hydrogen energy, restaurants, insurance agencies, realtors, boutiques, and ice cream shops. They come together in support of many community events ranging from High school events to the Memorial Day Parade, the Halloween Parade to Family Day, the Twilight concerts to the Rotary Barbeque, Celebrate Wallingford to the floral beautification efforts organized by the Recreation Department and the Garden Club. We commemorate Flag Day with the Elks and 9/11 with the Fire and Police Departments.
We really care about our community our citizens, our history and our future. Wallingford is a great place to be. Welcome to our town.
