Jerry Farrell

State Representative - 85th District

Jerry Farrell, Jr., candidate for State Representative in the 85th district, is a life-long Wallingford resident.  A single father, Jerry lives on North Elm Street and has two teenage children at Lyman Hall High School.  Jerry attended Wallingford schools, before graduating from Holy Cross College and Villanova University Law School.  Returning to Wallingford, he has practiced law in town for 31 years.

 

Jerry served 16 years on the Wallingford Town Council (1996-2012), where he worked to renovate the public schools, expand the public library, and purchase open space and space for athletic fields.

 

From 2006 to 2011, Jerry served as Commissioner of Consumer Protection for the State of Connecticut and worked hard to protect consumers, safeguard food and medical products, and protect children and senior citizens.  He helped draft many pieces of legislation that were then passed by the state legislature.

 

Jerry is active at Holy Trinity Church, where he is a lector and member of the Parish Council.  Jerry founded the Wallingford Historic Preservation Trust in 1991, which operates Wallingford's two house museums, the Nehemiah Royce House and Franklin Johnson Mansion.   Other groups that Jerry is involved in include the Wallingford Elks Club, Wallingford Rotary Club, Habitat for Humanity, and the Lyman Hall Music Parents.
